OFFICIAL STATEMENT REGARDING LOS FABULOSOS CADILLACS CENTRAL PARK SUMMERSTATE CANCELLATION

Unfortunately, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs have had to cancel their Central Park SummerStage performance, originally scheduled for Saturday, July 11th as part of the 10th Annual LAMC. The Central Park show was initially part of a larger tour but with the swine flu outbreak, many of these shows were subsequently rescheduled. As the Vive Latino Festival in Mexico City was postponed to the last week of June, a string of other shows were moved around that anchor date as well. As a result, this one New York show was no longer part of a bigger tour. We tried and tried, but at the end of the day, it was just not financially possible to fly to New York City for one show. The band is just as, if not more, bummed than anyone who wanted to be there. The Hammerstein show in New York this past April was a wonderful experience and we thank all of those who sold it out. Los Fabulosos will be coming back to New York in September as part of the next leg of their U.S. tour and do hope to see you.

Amigos Invisibles brought their Venezuelan Gozadera to 9:30 Club

One of the best known latin party bands has to be Amigos Invisibles (Venezuela/NYC). These guys attract a party wherever they are and routinely sell out the Black Cat and 9:30 club performing in DC at least twice a year. Judging from Saturday's latest concert it's not hard to see why. The show started off with Natalia Clavier (local alternative artist) followed by Batala (an all-female percussion band playing Afro-Brazilian/samba-reggae rhythms), followed by DJ Afro (Jose Luis Pardo Amigos Invisibles' own guitarist who plays music that will definitely get you into the Amigos Invisibles "Gozadera" mood!).

Amigos Invisibles' agenda for this show was to get the party going and never stop. They introduced material from their new album "COMERCIAL". Normally when a band puts out a new album the first few performances of the album draw blank stares from the fans that aren't familiar with the new songs. This was not the case at the 9:30 club show, people didn't break a step dancing from song to song, new or old. The drinks were flowing, the dance floor was packed, and the band was dead-on. Did everyone hear their rendition of the Lambada? I thought it sounded great! From start to finish the Amigos Invisibles know how to make an ordinary Saturday night into a latin feast.

Check out the fun by visiting the KestaDC Gallery Amigos Invisibles @ 9:30 club album: http://www.kestadc.com/gallery/album432

If you missed this concert and need to get your Amigos Invisibles fix, you have another chance this summer! They will be performing at the LAMC Celebrate Brooklyn concert in Prospect Park on Friday, July 10th along with Aterciopelados. Yes it's free!

FABULOSOS CADILLACS CANCELA SHOW DE CENTRAL PARK SUMMERSTAGE

FABULOSOS CADILLACS CANCELS NYC SUMMERSTAGE SHOW
The show is now scheduled to proceed with Calle 13 and Bebe on July 11, 2009 and is free.
=============================

Por otro lado, la banda planea celebrara a lo grande;

Amigos Invisibles brings you their live "Commercial"

Los Amigos Invisibles spent two years working on ‘Commercial’ during breaks in their heavy tour schedule. “The title of the album came out of our desire to make a more accessible record for even bigger crowds,” Pardo explains. “At first, we were hesitant to use the word but eventually we decided to come straight and use it as a concept. In a world where almost no one listens to an entire album and everyone has their thumb ready to press ‘next’ in their iPods, we just wanted to be more focused without taking out what we love about playing.”

Los Amigos Invisibles moved to New York City from their hometown of Caracas in 2001 and entrenched itself in the local scene. “From a musician’s perspective, being in New York exposes you to every kind of music that you can think of,” Pardo says. “It has been a great place to get inspired and to get our shows tighter. On the other hand, being away from Venezuela makes you realize what you had sometimes taken for granted."

With their electrifying live show, the group began building a considerable fan-base across the U.S. Collaborating with artists from Louie Vega (Masters At Work) to Dimitri From Paris, Los Amigos were able to establish themselves in the dance music scene and expand their sound. While raking in Grammy nominations year after year and performing on programs like the Jimmy Kimmel Show, the group continued to establish themselves.“Being a touring band is a great way to test songs and to try out new ideas,” Pardo says. “We now write most of our music with the purpose of fitting them into our live sets. Playing so much live makes you really aware of what kind of stuff gets people this way or that way. Aside from testing songs, we can't hold new tracks for that long. As soon as we think a song is ready to be played, we let loose. It's like having a new weapon, a funky weapon.”

“Commercial” features a variety of special guests from Jorge Gonzalez (of Chilean rock legends Los Prisioneros) and Mexican songstress Natalia Lafourcade to Senor Coconut vocalist Argenis Brito and Los Tetas’ C-funk. Los Amigos also enlisted production work from friends like Dimitri From Paris and Cachorro López (Belanova, Miranda).

Upcoming Shows (Full Tour TBA):
June 20 – 9:30 Club (Washington, DC)

July 7 - World Cafe Live (Philadelphia)

July 10 – LAMC/Celebrate Brooklyn @ Prospect Park (Brooklyn, NY)
August 5 - HOB Anaheim
August 6 - HOB San Diego
October 2 – Austin City Limits Festival (Austin, TX)
