The online music scene is up for a surprise because Re-Z is here to wake up your musical taste buds! Re-Z, pronounced “Rezeta”, is a new online reality radio show rigged with webcams, online chat, and open phone lines to be as interactive with listeners as possible. Launching on September 2nd, 2009, Re-Z will be streamed live every Wednesday from 7-11 PM (EST) on the already popular Kesta Happening DC premier Latin website (www.kestadc.com/re-z). Re-Z features the hottest music for global tastes including: salsa, cumbia, rock, reggaeton, pop, English hits, and everything that interests the Latino “Spanglish” community.

Re-Z is a lively show where “anything goes”, taking advantage of not having to abide by FCC regulations. Re-Z is the brainchild of Kristhian Senzano who earned his stars in music when he started Kontra Ruta, a non-profit organization that featured a successful TV show on MHz Networks, a website, and various college radio shows at Georgetown, Columbia, and George Mason Universities. With Re-Z, Kristhian has assembled an eclectic team of Latinos from all sides of the musical and cultural spectrum to each bring a different ingredient and flavor to the show.
“Growing up in the U.S. and Bolivia, I’ve always heard music from many different languages and genres playing on the local radio shows, with Re-Z I want to show how rich and different a radio show can be here in the United States. It’s going to open up cultural barriers, and make you crack up with laughter at the same time,” says Senzano. The team is lead by Francis Abreu Luna, the Host of the show who brings the Caribbean flavor to Re-Z having been raised in the Dominican Republic. Next is Dan Lama (or just Lama as we call him) who is the main Co-host of the show and a Peruvian heartthrob who is in charge of our show giveaways and the infamous Recipe segment. Ian Ramos, is a Mexican-American CAD Technician, and musical rockabilly rebel whose eccentric personality will have you cracking up in seconds. Ian is in charge of our sound engineering, webcams, and coordinates with bands to bring live music to Re-Z. Rosario Garcia is a businesswoman by day, concert junkie by night, who was previously the co-host of a Latin alternative show on VIVA 900AM and will melt you with her sexy voice. Veronica Mazo is a Bolivian/Ecuadorian, girl-next-door type who will keep you updated on all news and chismes going on in the world while entertaining you with her various artist impressions. Melvin Zelidon is a Salvadorian “papi chulo” who has all the happenings going on in the local club scene and the dish on all the hottest music.
The Re-Z team’s interests are as different as the music that will be playing; ever heard Shakira and Barry White in the same sentence? On Re-Z you most certainly will. The show also features some hilarious segments including a very interactive “horoscopo” section with live callers; a “double-take” segment mixing cover songs with the originals that will make you stop in your tracks; a very sexy “Dr. Love” segment with some not so generic love advice; a “happy hour” that features giveaways with music that will put you in the mood to get up and dance; and much more!
Come Wednesday, September 2nd, from 7-11 PM (EST) serve yourself your favorite food and drink, sit down, relax, and log on to www.kestadc.com/re-z to see what’s cooking! We can guarantee you’ve never heard a radio show quite like this!
